2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of male homosexuality in the UK. To commemorate this historic event, Camden Council put on a series of talks, exhibitions and activities – but they needed a brand to make sense of all this celebration, and bring it together under one programme.
Collaborating with the team through a number of naming workshops and creative reviews, we developed a visual identity that captures the feeling and mood of 1957, but also conveys the rich selection of events on offer throughout 2017.
Importantly, while our work acknowledges the significance of the anniversary, it has a dynamic, flowing essence to remind us that Camden is an iconic place of constant progress – always striving forward with equality issues, rather than looking back.
“Back To Front’s passionate approach means they have been able to produce really personal, bespoke work for our varied projects and platforms.”
