Forward is an insights-driven brand consultancy rooted in consumer and cultural-based knowledge. Unlike their competition, they’re nimble and adventurous – younger and more in touch with the culture their clients are trying to tap into, better storytellers than your typical market research agency, and proud of the deep, lasting relationships they form with their partners.
With all of this in mind, Forward asked us to create their brand identity. To kick things off, we conducted a survey with their staff – to better understand what their brand design needed to communicate. It became obvious immediately that in order to attract and retain their result-orientated clients, Forward needed something bold and modern that didn’t feel too corporate. They wanted to emphasise clarity and warmth, without coming across too aggressive (particularly considering how the branding would work alongside their name). Interestingly, their favourite design references came from lifestyle brands, such as Supreme.
Our solution sees the use of a beach theme and iconic, statement photography. Everything is designed to feel contemporary without seeming ‘faddy’; compelling and story-driven without being pretentious. Both the typography and colour scheme are clean, calm and versatile, working well across anything from Powerpoint templates, through t-shirts and stationery, to web pages (all of which we designed for them).
