Collaborating with the very talented people at Lucky Generals we worked on the visual identity for Hostleworld, an online travel agent for hostels.
We needed to find a way of bringing to life the new brand strategy “Meet the world”. We began by creating an icon for the app that would be recognisable and work in a small size. The new ‘H’ icon, features two arrows facing each other to symbolise a meeting point and ties in the idea of the hostel as a place where new people come together.
Once the identity was completed we worked closely with the internal design teams at Hostelworld to apply the designs to the new look site, mobile/tablet app and social media channels. Photographer Katharina Poblotzki created imagery for the first advertising campaign as well as a style guide for future work. The campaign used authentic photography, featuring real people in real places.
